Martha Kate (Pless) Schutte passed away peacefully on April 17, 2016 after a 3 year battle with lung cancer. Martha, a non smoker, worked towards spreading awareness of lung cancer being one of the top cancer killers but the least funded.
She is dearly missed as she was a very active member of the community volunteering with church and her beloved kids' activities. Her focus was always on helping others even when she was diagnosed with cancer. She had a strong faith and positive outlook even towards the end. She lived 2 years past her expected survival, and was an inspiration to the doctors and nurses who cared for her.
She is survived by her loving husband and 2 children, 22, and 18 who were by her side tirelessly caring for and supporting her throughout her battle.

This is very sad as Martha was one of the most fun loving individuals I've ever known. Always a smile and seemingly always happy. Whenever I hear Herb Alpert's "Route 101" my mind immediately goes to Martha doing the "Moose"-hilarious. My thoughts go out to her loved ones.
